If you follow me on Google, you may have already seen these links. But if you don't, then you haven't seen these links. And they should be seen.
INHABITAT is in the top four of my most favorite blogs. Right behind a theological blog from the perspective of a Reformed Calvinist; Ads of the World, a blog with advertisements from around the world; and the lady friends', which is always fun cause she loves fashion, clothing, design and cute things (like #2 pencils and old medicine bottles).
Anyway, INHABITAT is fascinating. Every time I check out a new post from them, I am in awe with what people can do with technology and design. INHABITAT''s slogan is "design will save the world" so their posts feature an innovative approach to our environmental problems.
I'll let the links speak for themselves:
Scientists figure out how spiders spin their webs and are working on a way to replicate this process. The spider web material is 5 times stronger than steel....Holy shit.
Body powered electronics. Imagine using your body to charge your cell phone...
Middle eastern nations transforming their deserts into farmland.
Lamp, puzzle toy combo. Say whattttt???
A "skin" is being developed for buildings that can regulate temperature and such, dramatically reducing energy needs.
I could post links to probably dozens more but you can visit the site and see more of this fantastic website for yourself.
