I have three Yahoo alerts: Shark Attack, Dead Parrot, and Monkey Escape. I get all sort of "shark attack" emails completely unrelated to shark attacks. But I rarely get the other two. Here are the two recent "dead parrot" alerts:

Wildlife Traffickers Bleach Parrots to Increase Value.

Pirate Bay Site Down as Anchor Set Adrift
Some bittorrent site is shut down by Swedes. Subtitle: "Dead as a stuffed parrot."

For the "monkey escape":

Cheeky Monkey Has a Brief Escape

Nice.

Every morning I get to look out my window and see the Puget Sound.

We have a deep color of purple couches we got from a house two doors down. They have a ridiculous setup. There is an orgy of alcohol in the basement. They have a full bar. The lady of the house invited us to drink as much alcohol as we wanted once a month.

The next door neighbor to the left of us is Mr. McCool. His wife's name is Peggy. An older guy, somewhat bossy but nice. Told us we could use his pool anytime we wanted but said something about "laying down the rules"...and it wasn't related to the pool so I'm curious.

Mr. McCool asked us how many people were living in the house. Someone shouted out that we had five (he is kinda deaf).

"Five guys?!?"

"Yeah."

"Well, I've heard of a whore house but not a stud house."

From the house behind Mr. McCool we see a head jolt above the wood fence and shout, "Did someone say whore house?" and disappear again.

"Hey Glen," Mr. McCool chuckles.

The neighbor to our immediate right is, from everyone we have talked to, insane. They replaced some of their grass with rocks, yell at strangers and let the air out of tires. Me and Johnny have a mission to deliver cookies. He won't go alone and personally, I wouldn't either. I am MOST excited for this encounter. I think I should dress up as a ninja or muslim or knight and wander around in their back yard yelling and knocking on windows. No one would believe their story. They're insane.

People have been super nice. Our neighborhood is nice and feels safe. There is a bus line about a half mile from our house that goes straight down town and by our school.

I've been driving around getting used to city streets and traffic. I get turned around everytime I go but I'm getting better.

One of our roommates isn't here yet but Johnny and Nick are nice. I knew as soon as I saw Nick that he was a hardcore kid. He said he is "straightedge" which confirmed my suspicions. Me, Dan and Nick went out Sunday night for a beer and found a whole street full of pubs. Nick is straightedge so he doesn't drink but me and Dan had some dark, almost black Porter. The city at night is interesting and diverse and I've only seen a small portion of it.

That's about it. We start classes and orientation August 31st.
